Contact Lenses

Freedom, Comfort, and Clarity

Comfortable, Convenient Vision Correction

Contact lenses are a convenient and comfortable alternative to wearing spectacles. Many of our patients find they are ideal for sport, social occasions, or simply for the freedom of living without glasses. Whether you want to wear them every day or just now and again, we’ll help you find the right option.

Your contact lens assessment

Every patient starts with a full eye examination so we can check your eye health and make sure contact lenses are suitable for you. We then carry out a specialist contact lens assessment to measure the shape of your eyes and discuss your lifestyle needs.

Once we’ve found lenses that match your prescription and fit, you’ll be given a trial pair to try out. Our team will show you how to put them in and take them out safely, and how to look after them at home. After your trial, we’ll arrange a follow-up appointment to check that you’re comfortable and happy with your vision. Ongoing aftercare is an important part of the service, so we’ll keep in touch with regular checks.

Types of contact lenses available

There are different kinds of lenses to suit different eyes and lifestyles:

  • daily disposable lenses – a fresh pair each day, with no need for cleaning or storage
  • reusable lenses – worn for up to a month, with careful cleaning and care between uses
  • toric lenses – specially designed for patients with astigmatism
  • multifocal lenses – to help patients who need different prescriptions for distance and reading

Our optometrists will help you choose the type that feels best and works best for your vision.
